Research Scientist - Biochemistry

Location: Cambridge, MA


Kronos Bio seeks a highly motivated Research Scientist to join its drug discovery team located in Cambridge, MA. As a member of an interdisciplinary team, this individual is expected to harness their substantial oncology background to help guide strategic scientific decisions and research program development. The applicant is expected to have a robust experimental skill set, an eagerness for learning, and contribute to a strong culture of teamwork and collaboration in a fast-paced environment.


  • Develop biochemical and biophysical assays for characterizing protein-compound interaction.
  • Profile compounds using biochemical and biophysical assays to support careening, hit validation, and medicinal chemistry efforts.
  • Keep detailed laboratory notebooks, analyze and interpret data, prepare summaries in a clear and precise manner.
  • Collaboratively work in a multidisciplinary team and communicate results to project teams.


  • D. in Biochemistry and Biophysics or related fields and 1-4 years of post-doctoral experience (biotech/pharma setting preferred); or B.S./M.S. with 10+ years of industry experience.
  • In depth knowledge of the drug discovery process, with experience in implementing hit identification strategies through candidate selection.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with fluorescence-based assay techniques (e.g. TR-FRET, FP, AlphaLISA/AlphaScreen) and label-free technologies (e.g. BLI, SPR) is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement new techniques, independently analyze and interpret experimental data, lead or participate in productive discussion with peers, and conduct multiple laboratory tasks efficiently.
  • Proven ability to work under limited supervision to assess assay performance and optimize assay protocol are required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
